My Top 15 Spring & Summer Nail Polishes!

May will be here within hours.  I figured what's a better time to do my favorite Spring & Summer nail polishes then now?  I've filmed a video (see below) where I chat about my top 15 polishes for the Spring & Summer.  Make sure you check that out!

Now I had a very hard time choosing the polishes in that video! I am a total nail polish FREAK! I can not get enough of them. Its hard for me to narrow down! So I picked some runner ups and photographed them.  Make sure you check the jump below Lazer Pink. I also took photos of the ones in my video for your reference :)

Budget Babe: MizOutlet.com Haul & Review

Hey everyone! Gosh it has been so long! Shame on me for failing at blogging! I've missed it so much, I've just been super busy.  But today I have a fun video haul & review for you!

Budget Babe is my new installment both here on my blog & over at my youtube channel.  This is for all my subscribers who are feeling the weight of this bad economy. I know I sure have. Between a not-so-glamorous salary & a huge debt from school loans, I'm always shopping for the best deals & sales.

I found this website called MizOutlet.  Think of Forever21 jewelry, makeup, & hair accessories... but for a fraction of the price! I know Forever21 is not expensive by any means. Their quality is also not the best.  MizOutlet carries the same quality as Forever21.  The average price of a piece of jewelry is around $1.50!! Shipping is also extremely cheap! I spent around $20 with shipping on all my goodies.

Watch my review/haul here:

Listed below are all of the items that were still listed on the site.  I've linked to the ones still available!

Where the @#$% have I been?!

Hello my friends.  Its been way too long since I've posted here.  One of my New Years resolutions was becoming more blog active.  Since I own the domain name (www.americanbluebell.com) I have plans to revamp this site at some point (and hopefully soon).

I have been so busy its not even funny!  I started a new job in October at a swim design company.  I've been really focusing on that. I'm still part of the training program so its been tough money wise. Blogging & YouTubing has taken a backseat.  But starting right now I will try to update at least 1-2 times a week!

I also just got a HD Camcorder for Christmas and had my computer completely wiped out & updated so now I can edit in iLife 11.  So my YouTube videos should become more regular and better quality!

As for the beginning of 2012, I've had stuff going on every single weekend since Christmas so this weekend is finally quiet around here and I am able to film & update :)

I'd like to welcome all my new readers, I hope you guys will enjoy my future posts.  If you want to see any reviews or any certain kinds of posts, let me know in the comments!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful start to the new year! xoxo

NOTD - Formidable!

Today's NOTD post is a fun one! Last year I bought this from the Venomous Villains collection from MAC.  There was nothing left at my MAC counter & I didn't pre-order anything so this is all I got! But oh how happy I am I got my hands on this one!

This polish has some great greenish blue sparkles in a plum base.  It looks like a bruise that you would receive on your skin.  I love how weird of a color it is.  It dries super fast &wears for about a week.  This was a limited edition product so I don't know if you can find it other than at a Cosmetics Company Outlet!  But its such a fun &glamorous color for Halloween!

Happy Halloween my loves! &Stay safe! <3

Back to the Dark Side

I recently dyed my hair to a lovely dark brown, almost black.  I highlighted my hair twice since May & dyed it red, which slid right off my hair, and my hair has been nothing but a hot mess ever since!  I truly missed my dark locks that I worked so hard to maintain and keep extremely healthy. So I decided to dye my hair once more, back to dark brown (close to my natural hair) & just leave it be! I switched back to all my regular hair care products and washes as well.  I am also going heatless again unless I NEED to do my hair.  On a regular day I don't use heat at all. So hopefully I can nurse my hair back to health again.

Yuck, you can see my split ends :(  I need to trim my hair now!

I used two boxes of L'oreal Paris Excellence Creme in 4A Dark Ash Brown.  I always use L'oreal Paris Excellence Creme. The conditioner it comes with is AH-MAZ-ING.  It always leaves my hair feeling like brand new.  Have you used L'oreal Paris Excellence Creme? Thoughts?

DIY: Glitter & Gold Pumpkins

Hi everyone!  I got this lovely idea from Martha Stewart.  I'll show you how to glam up your pumpkins in one of my most recent videos!  It's super easy and if you lay down newspaper, easy to clean up!  I recommend using fake pumpkins though, unlike me, so you can reuse them for next year's Halloween decor!

Happy Halloween :D

Review: Chesapeake Bay Candle

I recently was contacted by Chesapeake Bay Candle & was asked to do a possible review.  I accepted and was sent some goodies to try out for you guys.  I was sent two 9 oz. candles, and a 4 piece votive set.  Here is my review on each candle!

The first candle I was sent is a 9 oz. candle, Bamboo Eucalyptus.  The website describes this candle as "A relaxing spa blend infused with crisp  green bamboo and lime highlighted by bright notes of mint and blooming jasmine."

The second candle I was sent is  another 9 oz. candle, Orchid Guava.  The website describes this candle as "A tropical elixir of juicy guava and fresh lychee blended with exuberant island orchid and tropical mango."

(The above image is from the Chesapeake Bay Candle website.)

I was also sent a set of 4 votive candles.  The candles are (from left to right) Jasmine Mint, Calypso Mist, Bamboo Eucalyptus, & Turquoise Waters.  The website describes these candles as follows:

Jasmine Mint: "A sparkling and radiant blend of elegant white jasmine with accents of mint leaves & lemon zest."

Calypso Mist: "A cool scent reminiscent of marine breezes and sparkling waterfalls, illuminated by the freshness of fruity  notes and a hint of soft water cyclamen. "

Bamboo Eucalyptus: "A relaxing spa blend infused with crisp  green bamboo and lime highlighted by bright notes of mint and blooming jasmine."

Turquoise Waters: "An invigorating fresh infusion of cool  waters and citrus-splashed sage embraced by alluring notes of water lily and  sheer musk."

I absolutely adore these candles.  I love the jars that they come in.  They are frosted in a variety of colors and they really add to any room.  I also love the packaging.  I'm a sucker for good/cute/pretty packaging.  I loved all the scents that I received and they are perfect for brightening up any room.  The scents are not overpowering at all.  They are nice, light & fresh.  My only complaint is the wick in the 9 oz. candles.  I just wish it was thicker so it would be more sturdier or to have 3 wicks in the candle.  Other than that I love these candles & would totally purchase more.  They are sold online, Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Kohl's.

Burgundy Flirt

This polish is one of my favorite Fall nail colors.  The color with No Flash is more true to life color, where as the one with Flash is a much brighter red.  I'm a huge fan of Burgundy for fall.  This one is from Rimmel London called Burgundy Flirt and I must say, I absolutely love their Lasting Finish PRO Polishes. Here are some more swatches:
